June 27, 1932 - July 28, 2021
Clarence B. Jackson Jr., (Howard to friends), 89, of Bristol, Va., passed away on Wednesday, July, 28, 2021.
He was the oldest of twelve siblings and was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence B. Jackson Sr. and Sally Canter Jackson.
A Veteran of the Korean War (Army), he returned home to work 42 years in woodworking without missing a day of work. A husband to his late wife, Eva McGlammary Jackson of 49 years. A father to Vincent Jackson and Samantha Jackson Forbes. First love to Peggy Feathers Dishner who tirelessly worked with the family to take care of his needs during his extended illness. Howard will be remembered for his faithful servitude in seeking out those "less fortunate" extending not only a helping hand but sharing the gift of salvation.
Those left to cherish Clarence's memory include his children, his first love, Peggy Dishner; his brother, Harold Jean Jackson; sister-in-law, Sue Satterfield (Joe); a special niece, Kitty Martin (David); and great niece, Amanda Davis (Josh). Also, special friends, Wendi Stapleton (Chad) and Debbie Adkins (Ronnie).
Special thanks to all the friends who shared their love with us during this difficult time: the VA Hospital, Hospice and Beth Leonard for their support.
Due to the Covid crisis, a private Graveside service will be held with Reverend Jason Hand officiating. Friends may drop by the home of Samantha Forbes.
