Donald Birg Hilliard

Donald Birg Hilliard, age 61, of Bluff City, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 7, 2021, from the Bristol Regional Medical Center. Donald was born in Bristol, Tennessee, to the late James Henry Hilliard and Jessi Nellie Vanover Hilliard. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy Hilliard and Junior Hilliard; and three sisters, Ruby Wilson, Mary Watkins and Laura Nunn.

Donald worked as a painter and loved cars, spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. Donald never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone that needed a helping hand. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Those left to cherish his memories include his wife of thirty eight years, Linda Thurman Hilliard of the home; four daughters, Jessica Shelton and husband, Justin, of Mountain Home, Idaho, Christina Lacey and husband, Larry, of Piney Flats, Tenn., Donna Hilliard and Scott Morris of Charlotte, N.C., and Shanoa Smith and husband, Robby, of Bluff City, Tenn.; eight grandchildren, seven "grand pets"; a brother, Norman Hilliard of Bluff City; two sisters, Barbara Leonard and Betty Brewer, both of Bristol, Tenn.,. and several nieces and nephews.

Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to the American Cancer Society, 861 Weisgarber Road, Knoxville, TN 37909 in memory of Donald.
