Erma Kilby Blevins

CHILHOWIE, Va.

Erma Kilby Blevins was a loving wife, mom, mamaw, sister, aunt, and friend. She made Heaven her home on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at the age of 85. Erma was born in Whitetop, Va., to the late Tracy and Clyde Kilby, and was retired from Smyth County Community Hospital. She was a faithful member of Grosses Creek Baptist Church. Erma was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Kilby and Darrell Kilby, and two sisters, Brenda Sauls and Mary Cress.

Erma is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 66 years, D.I. Blevins, of Chilhowie; sons Chuck and wife, Angie of Marion, Don and wife, Regina of Marion, and Curtis of Salem. She was adored by her seven grandchildren, April Wheatley, Brandon Blevins, Kelsey Parks, Cody Blevins, Kasey Blevins, Madison Blevins, and Jensen Blevins, along with eight very special great-grandchildren, Mica Wheatley, Zeke Wheatley, Josiah Wheatley, Parker Blevins, Cambria Parks, Juniper Blevins, Oliver Blevins, and Lochlan Parks. She is also survived by her brother, Richard Kilby and wife Louise of Knoxville, Tenn., as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Friday, November 5, 2021, at Grosses Creek Baptist Church with Pastor George Jessee. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. prior to the funeral service at the church. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Grosses Creek Cemetery.
