Gloria Crain Obituary
January 13, 1963 - January 27, 2024
Gloria Wills Crain (61), of Blountville, TN, went home to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 27, 2024, after a battle well fought with cancer. She was a native of Battle Creek, MI, the daughter of the late Richard Wills and Kathryn Jordan Wills, and a true UP North girl at heart. She was survived by her husband, John Crain, and was his faithful wife and companion for over 40 years. In addition, she is survived by her daughter, Jenny Halcomb, of ND, son, Richard Crain, and wife Amanda, of Gray, and by her daughter, Kendra Crain, of Blountville, to whom she was the most wonderful mother and friend. She also dearly loved her four beautiful grandbabies - Lucy, Silas, Sage, and Annie, and could always be found on adventures with them, whether swimming, or rock looking, or playing together. She was the most amazing Grandmum. In addition, Gloria was an avid disciple-maker and teacher. She loved her students and colleagues at every school she was serving, which included Tri-Cities Christian Academy, Providence Academy, and Cornerstone Christian Academy. She was a regular attender at First Baptist in Blountville, TN, where she taught Sunday school and enjoyed the fellowship of her Sunday school class. Above all, she desperately loved her Savior and depended on Him to carry her through this life's journey, both joys and sorrows, until she saw Him face to face. She most definitely received a "well done".
A celebration of life was held on Wednesday Jan. 31, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Blountville, TN. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Bridge Home No Kill Shelter in Blountville, TN, in her honor and the honor of all her faithful furry companions whom she loved so well. Mrs Crain was my k-4 teacher at Rosemont , and was blessed to have her again in 4th grade at TCCS AIRPORT campus. I´ve had some good teachers but she tops that list! I still remember getting word coming out of 3rd grade that Mrs Crain was moving to the airport campus to take Mrs Blevins 4th grade class and I couldn´t be more excited haha
I laugh thinking about all the "Tennessee / Michigan " football conversations we had as she loved her Wolverines!
She was an amazing woman whose legacy will live on thru so many families / kids! I´m happy to say that I was a part of her legacy! Rest easy Mrs Crain as I know I will see you again one day!

I had the blessing of running into Jon today. And their daughter and a granddaughter. Was so blessed to see them. Mrs. Crain taught our children and we are grateful for the blessings she was to our family and for her friendship. Roy Nunn

Gloria was my 5th grade team teacher at Tri-Cities Christian Academy, but most importantly, she was my friend. Gloria was such a wise woman who never hesitated to tell you about her Jesus. Although it is sad for those left behind, I am so happy for her. I´m thankful for the impact on me. She will be missed.

Mrs. Crain was my 6th grade teacher and she was great. She helped us learn geography through song and was the first time I understood geography.
She will be very missed but grateful she is no longer suffering and is in heavenly body! Praying for her family in this time of grief.
