Nell Smithson Meredith, passed away on April 3, 2021. She was born on July 13, 1925, a daughter of the late W.J. and Elizabeth Smithson.
She was a homemaker and a member of Central Holston Christian Church and the Loyal Workers Sunday School Class. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Meredith Jr.; sister, Betty Wattwood; and brother, Billy Smithson.
She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Rosenbalm and husband, Dennis, of Knoxville; three sons, Joey Meredith and wife, Nancy, of Maryville, Bill Meredith of Bluff City, and David Meredith and wife, Angie, of Bristol; grandchildren, Sara Croley and husband, Ross, of Knoxville, Danny Rosenbalm and wife, Franchesca, of Thompson Station, Leah Key and husband, David, of Knoxville, Philip Rosenbalm of Knoxville, and Emma Barnett of Bristol; great-grandchildren, Lydia and Ben Croley, Jacob Clark, Sofia Rosenbalm and Mia Key; sister, Margaret Jane Miller and husband, Bill; brother-in-law, Herman Wattwood; first cousins, Janie Walsh, Andrea Smithson and Sarah O'Dell; several nieces and nephews; special caregiver who she thought of as another daughter, Jennifer Boggess; special friend and therapist, Lori Shelton; and the church family of Central Holston Christian Church.
The funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, April 10, 2021, at Central Holston Christian Church with Dr. Wayne Emery and Dr. Steve Page officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Shipley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason King, Nick Leach, Timmy Morton, Danny O'Dell, George O'Dell, Shawn O'Dell, Brenden Webb and Corey Webb. Memorials may be made to Central Holston Christian Church, 261 Sand Bar Rd., Bristol, TN 37620.
