Barbara Overbeck Obituary

Barbara Anne Overbeck, 61, of Bel Air, Md., died on Nov. 1, 2008 in Elkton, Md. after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Born Jan. 28, 1947 in Denison, she was the daughter of the late Willard Hickman and Rose Adele Bruno Overbeck. During her 25 plus year career with the Internal Revenue Service, Barbara served as a tax examiner, an equal employment opportunity investigator and an information technology specialist.
Ms. Overbeck is survived by her sister, Cynthia Overbeck Horst and husband Benjamin Jacob Horst of Ft. Worth; nieces, Stephanie Adele Horst of Weatherford, Elizabeth Anne Vinson and husband Curt Daryl Vinson of Granbury, Major Diana Caron Loucks and husband Major Gary Allan Loucks of the U.S. Army, and Jennifer Lynne Horst of Dallas; great-nieces, Brittany Michelle and Chelsea Kaitlin Vinson of Granbury; aunts, Lt. Col. Retired Helen Bruno of the U.S. Air Force of Fair Oaks, Calif. and Mrs. Frances Edmiston of Hardin, Ky.; cousins, Richard Edmiston of Kentucky and Ronald Edmiston of Oklahoma; and many loving friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 7, 2008 at St. Margaret Catholic Church, Bel Air, Md. with Rev. Jesse Bolger officiating. Interment was in Harford Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen, Md.
Pallbearers were John P. Coyne, Bill Elliot and Michael Weis. Honorary pallbearers were Benjamin J. Horst, Curt Vinson and Gary Loucks, Jr.
In lieu of flowers a contribution may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 572, Bel Air, Md. 21014.
