Billy Runnels Obituary
Pallbearers will be Matt Ratliff, Chad Runnels, Jack Fox, Steve Rodgers, David Upvall and Ty Heath.
Visitation will be from 6 -8 p.m. Tuesday at Dannel Funeral Home.
Mr. Runnels was born on Aug. 22, 1936 in Anna to Elmer Runnels and Edna (Flowers) Runnels. He attended schools in Anna, Texas. He married Melba Sutterfield on Aug. 29, 1996 in Sherman, Texas.
Mr. Runnels worked as a Supervisor for Burlington Industries and then for Sherman Independent School district after retiring from Burlington.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Ginger Runnels, and his son Billy Joe Runnels.
Surviving family members include his wife, Melba Runnels of Sherman; daughters, Kathy Ratliff of Bryan, Elizabeth Runnels, of Sherman; stepdaughters, Crystal Heath and husband Ty of Lewisville, Gina Rodgers and husband Steve of Sherman, Cheryl Upvall and husband David of McKinney; brother, E.C. "Butch" Runnels and wife Lois of Denison; and sisters, Sue Hoket and Charlotte Martin of Sherman; also, 10 grandchildren and five great-grandsons.
If desired, memorials may be made in Billy Jack Runnel's name to the donor's favorite charity.

I was sorry to hear about Billy's passing. May God bless you. May your memories help you get through this time of sorrow. I always thought he was such a nice man and we would always talk about our family ( his dad was my grandfather's brother William Gill Runnels).
