DEREK BOWDEN
It is with deep love and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Derek Bowden, who departed this life on November 25, 2025, surrounded by family and held in the prayers of all who loved him. Derek was 45 years old.
 Born on February 23, 1980, in
Denison, Texas, Derek grew into a man known for his steady kindness, his sharp sense of humor, and his unwavering loyalty to the people and passions that shaped his life. Among those passions, none shone brighter than his love for Texas Rangers baseball. Derek rarely missed a game - whether it was watching from home, keeping up from the road, or cheering from the stands. The Rangers were woven into the rhythm of his seasons, and he carried their victories and heartbreaks with the same spirit of hope and grit that defined him.
Derek's devotion to his family and friends was even stronger. He was the person who showed up always with a helping hand, quiet wisdom, or a well-timed laugh. His presence made ordinary moments memorable, and his steady encouragement helped many navigate life's hardest days.
 He is survived by his children Caiden Bowden of Gainesville and Allison Bowden of Denison his parents Doug and Charlotte Bowden of Denison, his sister and brother-in-law Chrissy and Jeremiah Green of Yukon, OK, aunts and uncles Aaron and Wanda Dunaway of Denison, Ron and Jean Dunaway of Sherman, Cookie Dunaway of Denison, Terry and Regina Bowden of Humboldt, TN, Mona Bowden and Steven Mack of Ozark, AL, Jeff and Netta Bowden of Denison, Cousins, Shane Dunaway of Denison, Michael and Ashley Dunaway of Denison, Shawn and Joy Dunaway of Denham Springs, LA, Brian and Andi Dunaway of Denison, Tara Bowden of Pauls Valley, Ok, Dylan and Kelly Bowden of Cummings, Ga, Misty Farrell of Alabama, Brayan Bowden and Brittany Hamm of Denison, Brittany and Justin Ross of Bells, TX, Jackie Hill of Dothan, Al, Eddy Hill of Little Rock AR, Haley Coates of Morrilton, AR, who will forever cherish the warmth, humor, and generosity he brought into their lives.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Leon and Imogene Dunaway, Sue and Athron McGhee, Frank Bowden, and uncles Rick Bowden and David Steed.Â
Though our hearts are broken, we give thanks for every moment with Derek. His legacy lives on in the people he loved, the joy he spread, and the way he taught us all to cheer with passion, live with kindness, and hold fast to hope no matter the inning. Please wear red or Texas Rangers gear to his service.Â
Memorial service for Mr. Bowden will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Fisher Funeral Home in
Denison, Texas.
