Floyd Bridges Obituary
Mr. Bridges was born on Jan. 9, 1936 in Platter, Okla. to Floyd Bridges and Ruth Giles Bridges. He was a lifetime residence of Bryan County and a member of the First Baptist Church in Platter, Okla.
He is survived by life partner, June Ochoa of Denison; daughters, Rose Marr, of Sherman, Debbie Bridges of Howe, Sherry Kelley of Greenville, Angela Blom of Howe, Stephenie Ochoa of Ft. Worth; sons, Gene "Bubba" Bridges of Sherman, and Billy Bridges of Dallas; sisters, Dorothy Strange of Tuskahoma, Okla., Betty Jennings of Sherman; brothers, Jesse Bridges of Cartwright, Okla. and John Bridges of Denison; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Bridges was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Ruth Bridges, sister, Lorraine Prock, one granddaughter and one grandson.
Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 15, 2010 at American Funeral Service Chapel, 107 N. Burney, Colbert, Okla. Interment will follow at Garden of Memory Cemetery in Colbert, Okla. Officiating will be Brother Roy Vinson.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Wines, Ronnie Wines, Jeff Turney, Larry Jennings, Dennis Marr and Richard Blom. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Lowry, Sally Witham, Raymond Jordan, Pearl Moss, Billie Joe Harville, Russell Carver and Janie Sinor.

it was a pleasure taking care of gene while he was at the nursing home. he was always there upon arriving for my shift with a smile and waving and hollering at us. after supper every night he would ask if the tv was on channel 12 for the news. i still turn it on there for habit for gene. :) i will miss him tremendously. my thoughts and prayers with you all. may god be with you.
