Henrietta Meriweather Obituary

SHERMAN - A Home Going Celebration for Ms. Henrietta Meriweather, 85, of Sherman will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Friendly Church of God In Christ, 711 E. Lamar St., Sherman. Public visitation will be from 10 a.m. -7 p.m. on Wednesday at Cravens Funeral Home, 225 W. Brockett St., Sherman.

Henrietta Meriweather entered this world May 10, 1928 in Guthrie, Okla. to loving parents James and Gladys Knight. Henrietta was raised by her maternal grandmother Emily Pevey. On June 8, 1956 Henrietta married Matthew Meriweather. To this union a beautiful child was born by the name of Gladys Meriweather. Ms. Meriweather was a very active member of Friendly Church of God in Christ where she faithfully served in the Mother Board , Kitchen Ministry, served a term as President of the Bible Study, was a YPWW teacher and took part in the Fourth Sunday dinner committee.

Henrietta Meriweather passed away from this life on Friday, October 18, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband Matthew Meriweather.

Memories of love and laughter will be remembered by her daughter, Gladys Meriweather of Plano; her church family at Friendly C.O.G.I.C.; and other relatives and friends.

The Meriweather Family is under the Personal Care of Cravens Funeral Home.
