James Dougherty Obituary
James Mathew Dougherty was born September 9, 1947 in Zachary, Louisiana; the son of Willie and Margaret (Woodson) Dougherty. James married the love of his life, June Carter on March 8, 1979 after meeting her while snow skiing in New Mexico. Scooter had a passion for life and spending time with his friends and family. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and enjoyed playing poker and dominoes with his friends. Mr. Dougherty loved life at the Boat Club with his close friendships that were created during his years spent there. He leaves a legacy of memories that will live forever in the hearts of his family and friends.
Mr. Dougherty is survived by his loving family, wife of 36 years, June Dougherty, two daughters, Wendi Tarver and husband, Brad and Aimee Doane and husband, Scott, three grandchildren, Tyler Doane, Trevor Doane and Gracen Tarver, sister, Beth Redden and husband, Jim, two nieces, Shannon Peck and husband, Delbert and Melissa Lisko and husband, Ryan and numerous great-nieces, cousins and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Margaret Dougherty and brother, Billy Dougherty.
Funeral services for Mr. Dougherty will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 13, 2015 at Fisher Funeral Chapel with his friends and family officiating. A time of family visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, November 12 at Fisher Funeral Home.
