James Sample Obituary
James was born March 7, 1926 in Brawley, California to Hart Sample and Jean Smith Sample. He entered the United States Air Force in 1943 and served during World War II, the Korean War, and Vietnam. He retired from the Air Force at Perrin Field in 1971. He was a graduate of the Air War College. On December 15, 1979 in Sherman, James married Carolyne Slaughter.
Surviving James is his wife Carolyne; son, James Patrick Sample of China; daughter, Cheryl Spurgin and husband James of Sherman; three grandchildren, Laura Shockley, Lisa Bullock, Lydia Spurgin; three great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary Mitchell of Waco.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, and three brothers.
