KENNETH LANGFORD Obituary

KENNETH LANGFORD WHITEWRIGHT - Kenneth Dow Langford was born on May 5, 1947, in Sherman, Texas to Willis Dow Langford and Audrey Elaine Fletcher Langford. He passed away September 4, 2023, in McKinney, Texas at the age of 76. Kenneth was a graduate of Whitewright High School in 1965. He was proud to have served our nation in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He later attended Grayson County College and went on to work for the Herald-Democrat for 35 years, as well as numerous other business ventures within the community. Kenneth spent 16 years with the love of his life, Carolyn. Together, the two attended King's Trail Cowboy Church, where Kenneth was a devoted member. He was a devoted father to his children, whom he shared with Karen McGraw Langford of Sherman, and was a proud gardener with a green thumb like no other. He will be remembered fondly by his family and many friends for his overwhelming kindness, his passionate love of gardening, and his luminous sense of humor. Kenneth is survived by his wife, Carolyn Whittington of McKinney; sons, Kollin Langford and wife Brandi of Whitewright, Kaleb Langford of Whitewright, Kory Langford of Plano, Matt Whittington and wife Diana of Flower Mound; grandchildren, Landry, Ryleigh, Audrey, and Kaeden Langford, Eden and Ella Whittington; brother-in-law, Douglas Shaffer; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Freida Shaffer, Barbara Smith, and Jimmie Paveloff. A Celebration of Life will be held 10:00AM Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Whitewright, Texas. Flowers are appreciated, as are donations to the Whitewright Food Pantry, an organization dear to Kenneth's heart. Arrangements are with Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Whitewright, Texas. I worked with Ken over 10 years back in the 80s at the Sherman Democrat. Even though I haven´t seen him for many years, I have so many wonderful memories of Ken and he was such a great friend. I can´t remember a time when Ken didn´t come to work with a smile on his face and something humors to talk about. Ken rest in peace and I know you will be missed by your family and friends. My very best to your wife and family. God Bless you. Thanks for all the memories! Charlotte Blystone-Belt
