Kyle Thomas Obituary

Kyle Matthew Thomas
Dallas - Kyle Matthew Thomas - beloved father, husband, son, brother and best friend – departed the physical world on May 20, 2021 in Dallas, TX. Born in Sherman, TX in 1977 to parents JD and Celia Thomas, he was raised in Denison, and was a proud Yellow Jacket. Kyle graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a degree in Electrical Engineering, and spent his entire 21 year career as a loyal employee of Raytheon. But Kyle was so much more than just an electrical engineer. He was truly electric.
Kyle had a smile that would light up an entire room, and an energy that would draw people to him. He never met a stranger, and created laughter everywhere he went with his hilarious stories.
Kyle was adventurous and fearless. He travelled the world, from skiing in South America to bungee jumping in New Zealand. But you better have great walking shoes, because Kyle could cram more Rick Steve's podcasts in single day than fathomable. He was a bold skier who was known for racing down double black diamonds, as well as a passionate soccer goalie.
Kyle adored music. He never missed seeing his favorite artist in concert when the opportunity arose, even if it meant going all the way to Dublin, Ireland. Without a doubt, Pink Floyd's biggest fan left this world far too early. He also loved his Rangers, Cowboys, Stars, Mavs and Longhorns, win or lose.
But more than this, Kyle was so deeply loved, and he returned that love tenfold. Whether it be volunteering, caring for a dying friend, or helping a friend in need, Kyle gave every ounce of his energy to others. Most people would be lucky to have one best friend, but Kyle had a wealth of deep, meaningful relationships. If he could say one thing to those who loved him, it would be thank you.
Kyle was a devoted husband, son, grandson, brother, nephew and uncle. He selflessly supported his wife in every way and was her greatest cheerleader. Because of Kyle, his wife became a better person. Kyle walked through life with Christ by his side, and through how he exemplified God's love and grace, he brought his wife back to the flock.
But Kyle's greatest achievement in life was his daughter Olive. All Kyle wanted in life was to be a father, and just like he did everything else, he became the very best father. From the moment Olive was born, there wasn't a diaper he wouldn't change or a bath time he would miss. He will always be her favorite parent, her diamond in the night sky, her playground buddy, her bubble blower, her puzzle assistant, her cycling chauffeur, and her storyteller. But now he takes on a new role as her guardian angel for her life's entirety.
Kyle has left an abundance of broken hearts, including his parents JD and Celia Thomas, his sister and brother-in-law, Ashley and Trevor Wood, his wife, Kimberly, and the love of his life, Olive.
A celebration of his beautiful life will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Park Avenue Church of Christ in Denison, TX. Visitation is from 9-10am, with the memorial service immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, we ask for donations to the North Texas Food Bank in honor of Kyle.
Services have been entrusted with Fisher Funeral Home, Denison.

It was an honor to know Kyle. And I love how close him and his family got to my family...so much so that my dad viewed him as a little brother. He will truly be missed. May he rest in peace❤
