Nancy Terry Obituary
NANCY JANE ROBINSON TERRY
Nancy Jane Robinson Terry beloved wife, mother, mimi, teacher and friend passed away peacefully September 24, 2025. She was born in Denison, Texas on October 15, 1943, to John Harmon Robinson, Jr. and Selma Irene Scott Robinson. Nancy will be deeply missed by her family, friends, former students and all who were touched by her love and kindness.
She devoted 37 years to teaching leaving an indelible mark on generations of students. Her dedication to education was recognized when she was inducted into the Denison High School Alumni Association Hall of Fame for Educators. Beyond the classroom, she mentored countless future teachers, instilling in them the same passion for learning and compassion for students that defined her career.
Her love for her community extended well beyond her professional life. She served in numerous roles at Waples, including the Board of Trustees, the Waples Day School Board and the Education Committee. She also gave her time generously serving on the Denison Public Library Board and later, upon retirement, became active in the Denison Service League.
Always wanting to be involved, she started a book club, led a Bible study group affectionately called the "God Chicks" and formed a circle of dear friends known as the "Woo-Hoo Girls". She was also a proud member of ESA Sorority. Known fondly as "Granny T" and remembered by thousands of students as the "Pickle Lady", her warmth and humor left lasting impressions everywhere she went.
Her greatest joy was people and was happiest when helping others. She shared 66 beautiful years with the love of her life whom she first met on a blind date in high school. They became engaged 2 years later on June 9 and were married 4 years later on June 12. This past year they joyfully celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Her husband lovingly says, "she has been the purpose in my life for more than six decades." She loved her family fiercely and was a wonderful mother and doting "Mimi" to her "Grands". She was a true blessing to all of them.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, John Terry, her daughter Rebecca Terry Boline and husband Roger Boline, and her cherished grandchildren: Parker-Paige Charles and husband William Charles, Kennedy-Claire Boline and Brooks Austin Boline. Her legacy of love faith and service lives in in them. Though she will be dearly missed, her spirit lives on in the countless lives she touched.
A memorial service will be held at Waples United Methodist Church on October 11th at 10:00 am with family visitation to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Waples United Methodist Church or to the Denison Education Foundation in celebration of her life.
