Noel Lewter Obituary
He passed away on July 9, 2013 at Texas Health Presbyterian-WNJ in Sherman.
Noel was born on July 10, 1939 to Dorsey Clay and Dorothy (Wood) Lewter in Gordonville. He married Jacquita Hughes on Aug. 26, 1960 in Whitesboro. He was the owner and operator of Lewter's Cabinet Shop in Collinsville for 45 years. He and Jacquita were married for 52 years. He was very creative in his wood working. He loved people and he loved life. He enjoyed his hobbies of old cars and antiques. He also loved animals.
He is survived by his wife, Jacquita Lewter, of Collinsville; children, Layne Clay Lewter and his wife Carrie of Whitesboro, Gina Noelle Williams and her husband Jon of Corinth, Texas, and Dorsey Jack Lewter and his wife Jo of Collinsville; five grandchildren, Justin Clay Lewter and his wife Alisha, Austin Louis Lewter and his wife Jennifer, Lucas Layne Lewter and Amber Skelton, Jess Randall Lewter, and Jasmine Lewter; seven great-grandchildren, Carson, Zander, Brooklyn, Jackson, Isabella, Mackenzie, and Grace; other extended family members: aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorsey and Dorothy Lewter; and his sister, Margie Ann West.
The pallbearers will be Brandon White, Darrin White, Mike Fitzgerald, Carey Dodson, Robert Varley, French Dumas, Billy Dan Johnson, and Gordon Pouch?. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Burch, Roy Adams and Chuck Mills.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Collinsville Church of Christ, Building Fund, P. O. Box 2, Collinsville, TX 76233.

It was with great sadness that I discovered today that my dear brother in spirit passed away over a month ago. Tearfully, I prayed for his progress in the next world and thought of my own loss. The loss for his beloved family must still even the most considerate remarks and I can only offer my condolences and share my deep love for this extraordinary man in my life. Here is the prayer I chose and I hope it will be of use to others. I miss him greatly and love being able to mention that I know and love him. My life has truly been richer for having had Noel and Jacquita and "the kids" in my life.
He is God, exalted is He, the Lord of loving-kindness and bounty!
Glory be unto Thee, O my God, the Lord Omnipotent. I testify to Thine omnipotence and Thy might, Thy sovereignty and Thy loving-kindness, Thy grace and Thy power, the oneness of Thy Being and the unity of Thine Essence, Thy sanctity and exaltation above the world of being and all that is therein.
O my God! Thou seest me detached from all save Thee, holding fast unto Thee and turning unto the ocean of Thy bounty, to the heaven of Thy favor, to the Daystar of Thy grace.
Lord! I bear witness that in Thy servant Thou hast reposed Thy Trust, and that is the Spirit whereunto Thou hast given life to the world.
I ask of Thee by the splendor of the Orb of Thy Revelation, mercifully to accept from him that which he hath achieved in Thy days. Grant then that he may be invested with the glory of Thy good-pleasure and adorned with Thine acceptance.

Grant, then, O my God, that Thy servant may consort with Thy chosen ones, Thy saints and Thy Messengers in heavenly places that the pen cannot tell nor the tongue recount.
O My Lord, the poor one hath verily hastened unto the Kingdom of Thy wealth, the stranger unto his home within Thy precincts, he that is sore athirst to the heavenly river of Thy bounty. Deprive him not, O Lord, from his share of the banquet of Thy grace and from the favor of Thy bounty. Thou art in truth the Almighty, the Gracious, the All-Bountiful.
O my God, Thy Trust hath been returned unto Thee. It behooveth Thy grace and Thy bounty that have compassed Thy dominions on earth and in heaven, to vouchsafe unto Thy newly welcomed one Thy gifts and Thy bestowals, and the fruits of the tree of Thy grace! Powerful art Thou to do as Thou willest, there is none other God but Thee, the Gracious, the Most Bountiful, the Compassionate, the Bestower, the Pardoner, the Precious, the All-Knowing.
I testify, O my Lord, that Thou hast enjoined upon men to honor their guest, and he that hath ascended unto Thee hath verily reached Thee and attained Thy Presence. Deal with him then according to Thy grace and bounty! By Thy glory, I know of a certainly that Thou wilt not withhold Thyself from that which Thou hast commanded Thy servants, nor wilt Thou deprive him that hath clung to the cord of Thy bounty and hath ascended to the Dayspring of Thy wealth.

Noel was just a precious man and was so interesting to talk with. We were deeply sorry to hear of Noel's passing and will keep Jacquita and the entire family in our thoughts and prayers during this time.

I was surprised & saddened to hear of Noel's passing. He was a very special man to me and to so many others. Since my dad passed away when I was very young, he would share stories of my dad with me. That meant SO MUCH to me, not sure he ever knew that. Prayers from our family to yours.

Since you two are the family members we knew best, please accept our thoughts and prayers on behalf of the entire family. We met Noel at one of the TOS programs in Sherman, and it is obvious that he is held in high regard. We came to the funeral home during visitation hours Thurs. evening but soon realized that we would stand in line another hour just to get to sign the book and perhaps speak a word to you. There were so many cars around that we parked across the street, and then the line of people stretched far outside the door. This speaks highly of the regard for Noel and his family.

I just heard of Noel's passing. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Noel and Layne made all the cabinets in my new house when I moved from Colorado 20 yrs ago. He loved going there in the summers to do his cabinetry. He always had his dog with him, too. Whenever our paths would cross, he was filled with such an energy for life. May you find comfort in knowing he is still alive with God now in Heaven.

Noel was the first man in Collinsville that I met when we moved here in 1979. Always had a smile and a good story to tell, Found him to be one of the more interesting people I have ever met and such a talent as a craftsman. Great neighbor. I had paid my water bill and was looking into his shop when the ambulance went by, wasn't until the next morning I realized Noel had left us.
