Alexander Campbell Obituary
Alexander M. Campbell
Born April 8, 1909, in Scotstown, Quebec, Canada, Reverend Campbell was educated at McGill University, School of Theology in Montreal, Quebec. He earned a Doctorate of Sacred Theology from the University of Chicago and a Doctor of Divinity degree from Whitworth College. As a student pastor in Vancouver, British Columbia, he met and married his beloved Mary I. Kennedy. Their first church was in Morro Bay, California. Subsequent congregations and communities served include churches in Seattle, Omak and Yakima, Washington. For seventeen years, Reverend Campbell was on the staff of the Presbyterian Synod in Alaska and Washington and as Director of Evangelism for the Synod, he supported 232 churches.
Reverend Campbell will be greatly missed by his beloved wife of 68 years, Mary; his daughters, Jeannette, Joan and her husband ,Stephen Sundberg, Marylin and her husband, Vernon Ferrel; his seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m., on Saturday, March 24, 2007, in his home church, Trinity United Presbyterian Church, 1315 North 160th Street in Shoreline, WA. The Reverend Randy Butler will officiate. A private Graveside service was held at Edmonds Memorial Cemetery in Edmonds. Arrangements: Beck's Funeral Home, Edmonds, (425) 771-1234.

Dear Campbell Family, this afternoon I learned of the death of Dr. Campbell. The Reverend Muriel Brown left me a note that she saw the obituary in the Seattle paper.
On behalf of the Presbytery of Central Washington I extend our sympathy to you and our great appreciation for Dr. Campbell. Dear Family,
I'll always remember Alexs' love, and inspiration of hope for all in the Maryland Clan. Not to mention a sense of humor that brought about so many laughs.

Dear Mary, Jeannette, Joan & Marylin. This makes me so sad. I've lost track of all of you but I still have Alex and Mary on my Christmas list---but at the wrong address. You were such an important part of my life. Please let me know where I can contact you. I would love to be with you Saturday but I'm in Borrego Springs, CA until 3/29. Alex was such a wonderful person. He touched so many people with his wisdom, his caring and his humor. He and Mary were what we all should strive to be. He will be missed.
