Ann Thorsen Obituary

Ann Thorsen, age 92, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2018. Ann was born May 27, 1926 in Santa Ana, California to Theodore and Flora Trammell and grew up in the Los Angeles area. After Flora and Ted divorced, Flora married George Huffman and Ann became "Chitter" to her new baby brother, George Edwin. While Ann was visiting her father in Las Vegas at the age of 17, she met a handsome young Air Force man named Roy Thorsen and eventually sent a telegram home to Flora - "Don't blow your top - Roy and I are married." Roy and Ann moved to Everett, Washington and raised their children Robert and Nancy. The couple enjoyed their time with the Everettes Trailer Club, Happy Hoppers Square Dancing Club, and playing cards with their many friends. Ann loved her volunteer years at Providence Hospital and times spent at their Shores of Maui condo with friends and family. She never missed a social event or the opportunity to travel. Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Roy Thorsen, and her parents and brother. She is survived by her son, Robert Thorsen and his wife, Kate; her daughter, Nancy Hagen and her husband, Steve; grandchildren, Christopher and Jenny Thorsen, Susanne and Jeffrey Hilton, Michael and Lisa Hagen and Stacey and Chris Dewald; great-grandchildren, Dalton and Taynanee Thorsen, Seth and Drew Hilton, McKenzie, Kennedy and Josh Hagen, and Jaide Hagen; and her sister-in-law, Carol Huffman and her children. A celebration of Ann's life will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 from 2:00pm - 5:00pm at the Inn at Port Gardner, 1700 West Marine View Drive in Everett. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to a favorite charity. Arrangements are under the care of Gilbertson Funeral Home, Stanwood, Washington.
