Arlene Swartz Obituary

Bill, born to Willard and Bertille Swartz, and Arlene, born to Chet and Marguerite Larsen, passed away in Galena, Illinois within hours of each other. They were married in 1977 and were devoted to each other from the beginning.

Bill grew up in Everett with sisters Christy and Kathy. Arlene grew up in Granite Falls with brother Jerry. Bill and Arlene met and fell in love at Everett Community College where Arlene worked and Bill was taking classes. They lived and raised their family locally until moving to Illinois in 2022 to be near their son Michael.

Bill was a kind, well-read man who enjoyed a good discussion. Arlene was an artist in many mediums including pottery and painting. She generously shared her creative talents with others.

Survivors include sisters Christine Swartz Hotton (Mark), Kathleen Swartz Landis (Davy), son Michael Swartz (Christopher), daughter Mischa Heemsha, grandchildren Ashley Cox (Jody), Sarah Enos, Cheyenne Thomas (Heiko), seven great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Bill and Arlene have moved on to their Happily Ever After. The family will miss them and will cherish all the happy memories of our time shared.

Bill and Arlene were friends with many shared art interests.20 years of fun. Kind, down to earth. They sold two houses using me as their realtor, before moving to Illinois. They were made for each other.

Sincere condolences to Christy, Kathy and the extended Swartz family as you all grieve the losses of Bill and Arlene. Bill and I were childhood pals, attending together Whittier, North Jr. and EHS. Many a rainy, fall afternoon (like today) was spent in the Swartz tv room watching the afternoon movie and eating ice cream. I look back on those days with great fondness. While we lost touch after high school, I'm happy to learn that Bill found his person in Arlene and together they created a loving family. May light eternal shine upon them.

These to souls were made for each other. It's almost a given that they couldn't spend one day apart. May they rest in peace. Love, Julie
