Betty Potts Obituary

August 27, 1926 - March 27, 2016 Betty Jean passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on March 27, 2016. She was born August 27, 1926 to John and Ethel Williams on the ranch of her grandfather, Emory (Rotten) Williams outside of Cascade, Idaho. She was one of eight children. Betty attended elementary school in Cascade and graduated from New Meadows High School, class of 1944. She married Floyd Potts on June 11, 1945. They had four children: Larry, Jerry, Ronald, and Judy. Betty worked as a homemaker, a waitress at CC Andersons (the Bon) in Boise, Idaho and worked three years at the Boeing Co. in Wash. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Floyd; sons: Larry and Ronald, and six siblings. She will be missed by her brother, Gordon (Velma) Williams; her son, Jerry (Janette) Potts; her daughter, Judy (Leroy) Brown; 10 grandchildren; numerous greats and special friends: Bud Peterson, Wanda Schroedl, and Bobbie Plancich as well as many other friends and family. Most of Betty's adult life was lived for her Lord and doing church and Sunday school work. She was a woman of prayer, was kind, thoughtful, and generous to everyone she met. She will be remembered for her homemade beef and noodles, and dinner and cinnamon rolls, and her homemade candies. Betty was a great story-teller, and loved wearing her Sunday hats. She had a great sense of humor, and was a vivacious "people person". Betty will be laid to rest next to her husband in Cascade, Idaho. Memorial service is planned for Sunday, April 17, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. Olympic Place, 20909 Olympic Dr., Arlington, WA 98223 (ph: 360-435-8440) In lieu of flowers, Betty would love you to give a kind word and a hug to someone today. Many thanks to Olympic Place and Hospice for their care of Betty.

Betty & Floyd were very special to my family during the years we attended church with them. Mike & I had already lost our parents. Betty & Floyd stepped forward to be our "adopted grandparents" for our son, Danny who was a toddler at the time. Danny loved them dearly and we still hold them in high regard. I kept in touch with Betty as her pen pal when she moved to Idaho. Our love and prayers go out to the family.

God bless all of you.

Betty will always have a special place in my heart as one of my first Sunday School teachers under my grandparents at Garden City Assembly of God. She always had little contests to encourage us to learn and she gave us little prizes. This has always stuck with me and I grew up to be a Sunday School teacher myself for over 20 years. My family, the Kindall's send their thoughts and prayers to you at your loss. Kathy Kindall Henderson (Harold, my dad, Connie, Terry and Tom)
