Carl "Jerry" Varriano

Carl "Jerry" Varriano died, in his home in Lynnwood, Washington, on March 14, 2006, at the age of 77.
Jerry grew up in Seattle, Washington, and attended Garfield High School, 1942-1944. He served in the Army Air Corps and the Merchant Marine from 1946-1953.
Jerry met his beloved wife, Charlene Varriano (Duell) and they were married in Golden, Colorado, on May 1, 1948.
Jerry's career was in Ornamental Iron Work and he worked at Fentron Window Company and Seattle Bronze Company for a total of 22 years. He built many doors and windows in the Seattle area, including the Bubblator for the World's Fair in 1962.
Jerry started the Century Bowling League at the Lynnwood Lanes and continued bowling until his passing. He achieved his personal best scores after turning 65!
Jerry was a Boy Scout Leader for Troop 49 for 14 years, helped to build the Alderwood Manor Youth Club in 1961-62, and received the "Golden Acorn Award" from Cedar Valley Elementary School in 1970.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Charlene Varriano; two sons, Patrick Varriano and Michael Varriano; daughters, Diana Mortensen and Gina McCaul. He also leaves seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren, plus one on the way!
Jerry was known for being loving, strong, inventive, smart and for his great sense of humor. He successfully fought Lymphoma cancer from 1985 to present.
Jerry will be greatly missed by his loved ones and friends.
A graveside service has been held at Floral Hills Cemetery, Lynnwood.
