David Goodwin Obituary

July 11, 1979 -

July 12, 2022

David Goodwin passed suddenly on July 12th, 2022. He was born on July 11th, 1979, in Shoreline, Washington to Caroline and Dave Goodwin. David spent much of his youth building an unforgettable relationship with his grandparents, Pam and John Knisley.

David had a strong love for softball and bowling; his passion for the Mariners, and his favorite player, Ken Griffey Jr, was unmatched. You could often see him rooting for his favorite players dressed to the nines in his team's gear. David's knowledge of bowling led him to mentor countless youth, and coach for Lake Stevens High School team. While coaching the high school teams, he had the pleasure of coaching his nephew, Trent Wells, while building bonds with many other young athletes.

His love for bowling helped David cross paths with his wife and best friend, Angie Goodwin. David and Angie married on May 31st, 2014. When David married Angie, he became part of a larger family and he prided himself on the strong bond he had built with Margie, Scott, Todd, Kyle, and their families.

With that, Strawberry Lanes became a large part of David's life. His ability to help out wherever he was needed became a staple. He spent hours building friendships, giving bowling tips, and rousing the people as much as he could.

David will be remembered for his love for others, his laugh, his passion for his hobbies, and the practical jokes that nobody could escape.

David was preceded in death by his grandfather, John Knisley.

David is survived by his wife, Angie Goodwin; his mother Caroline Goodwin; his father, Dave Goodwin; his brother Rodney Goodwin; his grandmother Pam Knisley. David is also survived by countless friends among the many communities in which he was active. He will be forever missed.

A celebration of life is planned for August 4th, 2022, at Strawberry Lanes from 5pm to 8pm in Marysville, WA. Please wear any Mariners or Griffey gear if you can. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Diabetes Association in honor of David Goodwin.
