Donald Hatch Obituary

Donald Charles Hatch III was born on October 11, 1960 to Donald Hatch II and Barbara Anderson Hatch. Donald was surrounded by his family when he went to be with the Lord and his mother on March 6, 2015. He was a graduate of MPHS in 1978. Donald's passion all of his life was revolved around sports. Playing football, basketball, baseball and golf all of his life. Any tournament Donald attended he would always be recognized for ALL-STAR or MVP. He was known as a walking sports Almanac. A special shout out to the "Original" Renegade Team. Donald is a third generation coach for Tulalip. Donald's career started out at Boeing. Then he became a bingo caller at the Tulalip Tribes entertainment center. Then he moved on to the Tulalip Casino as a blackjack dealer, eventually becoming pit boss. But of course his passion for sports moved him on with his career to Athletic Director at the Tulalip Boys & Girls club. In his life he was known as a mathematic wizard. He leaves behind his father, Donald (Penoke) Hatch Jr. and Cy (Karen) Fryberg (second parents); daughters, Jacqueline and Haley Hatch, Michelle Hutchins; his only son, Deion (Rocio) Hatch. Besides his children the joys of his life were his grandchildren Nate, Alesha, Amare, Peyton, Francis, Deion Jr, and Honey girl. He also leaves his siblings, Denise Hatch-Anderson, Andrea (Steve) Hamilton, Paula Hatch, Carrie fryberg, Jennie Fryberg and Kristi Jo Parks. Brothers Lawrence Hatch, George and Bubba Fryberg; numerous aunts uncles nieces and nephews. Preceded him in death, his mother, Barbra (Anderson) Hatch; and his soulmate, Shirley Lyn Jones; as well as many more of his ancestors from Muckleshoot and Tulalip. Interfaith Service will be held Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at Tulalip Tribal Gym. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at the Tulalip Tribal Gym with burial to follow at Mission Beach Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home, Marysville.

Condolences to the Hatch Family. Didn't personally know Don that well but grew up in School with him, he was a couple yrs ahead of me. I mostly remember him playing basketball and what a joy it was to watch him. I wish I would have known him better as the Guests here indicate what a great person he was. Peace to you Don.

I have so many fond memories of growing up with Donald. Tulalip elementary, Marysville Middle, and MPHS. He was smart, funny, friendly, athletic, and lit up the room with his smile and dimples. I will miss my friend, and pray for his special family.

Donald,
Sadness in my heart for a Good Man Leaving this earth.
You always treated me like a friend, Have fond memories of playing in the basketball tournaments, especially when we would travel to Oregon and different spots in Washington. I would have never had the opportunities to do these things had you not included me as part of your team. And the time you got me a job working at a Fish plant in Forks, I only lasted a couple of days, I got stuck working in the freezer, too cold, couldn't handle it, yet it was an experience. You always had a great smile and a giving nature. Although I hadn't seen you in awhile, the last time I saw you was at the Casino and the last gesture, was giving me a comp to the buffet. Always giving! '
I thank you for the memories and for your graciousness

Sadness does not leave me. Donald was my friend. He would come to me and talk. He would talk to the children at the Boys & Girls Club. We loved him and loved those talks. Most recently he would ask me for my prayers. I will miss my friend and the only thing that gives me peace is knowing he suffers no more. RIP my friend. And to the family goes my love and condolences. Sincerely, Bev Costa

Disbelief in hearing of Don's passing. From MJAA to MPHS and tribal tournaments I always loved playing with and against Donald. Great competitor and athlete. His no-look pass was an art form, I still have Mikasa faintly readable on my right cheek after all these years. Deepest sympathies to the family and tribes.

Andrea, and all the Hatch family, I am so very sorry to learn the loss of Donald. He was a special brother to you and I am so honered to have met him, you, your family and friends and the fun I had spending time around your famlily. I remember Donald bringing over that little baby bubba to our house, what a cutie, he loved that baby boy bubbas. Your whole family is very special and I pray the lord lifts all your heavy hearts at this difficult time. You have been through so much pain this last year. Thinking about all of you and keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Dr. Barnes and his daughter Glenna would like to extend our deepest sympathy and condolences to the Hatch family. I'm sure my father (who passed away in 1995) delivered Don III and most all of the family of Don and Barbara. I worked in my father's clinic and went to school with the Hatch kids and got to know the family. They all are one of the nicest families in Marysville. I'm so sorry for your loss. May your memories give you comfort.

This is terrible news to me...I had no idea he was sick. Donny started working for me at the Quil Site on 27th in '81. All he wanted to talk about was sports...which was fine with me. In later years he would see me at the gym at MPHS in the bleachers...sit down next to me for a scouting report and lament about the fact that we never went one on one. What a guy. My hugs and prayers to the Family and all that suffer in his loss.

Donald, Jr. So much pain and grief that you and your family has had recently. You are and have been in my thoughts and prayers. I don't know if you remember me, but we were classmates for all our school years, starting at Lincoln Elementary. May your son Rest in Peace. Sincerely, Karen Hegeberg Burzlaff
