My Aunt Dorothy is one of the few people I've known who grew in wisdom and presence as she got older, instead of dwindling. She read Winnie the Pooh to us kids in the mountain cabin, listened to our feelings and was a haven of caring when we needed it. I'm so grateful for her example of living life fully and with growing depth, persistence and integrity as the years accumlated. I'm grateful that even in her 90's, she was interesting to talk with, insightful, centered and wise, kind and present in ways that created little havens of calm in the midst of hectic life. She lived a resilient life, becoming an example to us younger ones on overcoming adversities --finding meaning and healing and love, to the end of her days. What a blessing to have known her, and to be able to live more fully with her memory.
