Ed Stroh Obituary

Ed Stroh, 76, of Ellensburg , passed away suddenly on November 12, 2025.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Charlotte Stroh, and his sister Cassie Ellis.

Ed graduated from Snohomish High School in 1967. He attended Everett Community College where he received his certification as a diesel mechanic.

He began work at Associated Sand and gravel in Everett but was lured away to work on the Alaska pipeline. When he returned in 1977 he moved to Ellensburg.

He was the top in his field for working on Detroit diesels. It wasn't unusual for Ed to be flown to different locations to work on someone's downed Detroit.

He loved his farm and enjoyed the gardening and hunting he was able to do. He had elk and deer living on his property so he didn't have to pack up and drive across the mountains to hunt anymore!

He had a passion for old cars and parts. It wasn't unusual for him to get in his truck and drive down to California for that one part that he'd been looking for.

Ed is survived by his sister Julee, of Arizona, his son James of Ellensburg, and the apple of his eye, granddaughter Skylar Stroh. His daughter Erin and her children Audrianna and Trystan of the Tri Cities,

Not to be forgotten is his extended and much loved family of Connie Thompson, Angela Thompson and her children Rhiannon and Adrian.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

Yesterday

So sorry to hear of Ed's passing. We had many adventures as friends and housemates in Snohomish, Lake Stevens, and Everett; travels to Lake Chelan in his El Camino, Canada and Michigan in my bus, fishing at his farm in Ellensburg, and Best Man at my wedding, among so many other memories. I miss those days, and I miss Ed. My heartfelt condolences to his family and to his friends Ed has left behind. Rest in peace, Ed.
