Edward Huff Obituary

Edward 'Ted' Thomas Huff born November 18, 1950, in Pullman, Washington to Edward 'Ed' and Catherine (Johnson) Huff passed away peacefully April 13, 2022, after a brief fight with Glioblastoma, in his beautiful Cerritos Beach home overlooking the Pacific Ocean near the artist town of Todos Santos, BCS. Ted spent the first years of his life in Albion Washington before his family moved to Pullman. He graduated from Pullman High School in 1969, then in 1971 moved to the Hermosa Beach area of California where he worked as a plumber. Ted returned to Pullman later that decade and worked with Will Bauscher plumbing and then started his own plumbing business Edward T Huff Plumbing. In 1980 he moved to Seattle and began his long career working with Magnolia Contractors Inc. Over those years he oversaw the pipe fitting on some of the highest profile jobs in the Seattle area; including but not limited to the construction of The Seattle Art Museum, T-Mobile Park and Lumen Field. Ted eventually stopped working in the field and began another career in CAD pipe detailing. Which grew into Joe's Detailing, his own successful drafting business which he recently retired from. Ted met and married his wife Lisa Huff shortly after his move to Seattle. They welcomed a son and then eventually moved to Everett, Washington to raise their young family. In 2014 with all the children out of the house, Ted and Lisa moved to Cerritos Beach and built their dream home overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Ted made new friends in Mexico, enjoyed whale watching from his patio and the local culture. He truly lived the "No Bad Days" lifestyle of retirement near the beach up until his very last days on earth. He is survived by his wife Lisa, children Micheal (Rachel), Jamie (Jacob), Jesse (Belinda), Serene and many grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brother Doug (Beth) and sister Leann, along with other extended family, and friends. Ted had a contagious laugh, was whip smart, truly kind, utterly loyal and was very loved by many who knew him. November 18, 1950 - April 13, 2022

Ted was in my graduating class at PHS '69. I remember him as a charming and delightful presence and am so sorry that his life was cut short due to Cancer. He will always be remembered by his friends and classmates, and I send sincerest condolences to his family on the 1 year anniversary of his passing.

Uncle Theo he was known as when I met him. Worked with Ted for four years at Magnolia Contractors, and learned so very much from him. Many, many stories could be told, but I'll limit it to just one. On one particular work morning Uncle Theo came in giddy as a kid on Christmas morning. Seems he had just met this most amazing woman by the name of Lisa. Lisa Mahala he called her. And he was right. I got to meet Lisa, and she was stunning. Then along came little Mikie, with Ted and Lisa morphing into married life. I am glad Uncle Theo got to enjoy some of his retirement, and I express my deepest sympathies to Lisa and the family.

Ted's passing is very sad news, but the loving obituary reflects a life so well lived, full of accomplishment and fulfilled dreams. I am happy to read that he had a wonderful life and sad that it was cut short. Sincerest condolences to Ted's family and friends.
