Eugene Evenson Obituary

Eugene Oliver Evenson

Eugene Oliver Evenson, 92, of Marysville, WA died on June 20, 2013. He was born on June 16, 1921, in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Oliver A Evenson and Caroline (Cihlar) Evenson. Eugene graduated from Fort Dodge High School in 1940.
Eugene is survived by his children, daughter, Candis Goulder; and son, Lee Evenson (Sue); along with his grandchildren, Janette Cashen, Sheri Cashen Ball (Bill), Connie Cashen, Alleshia Goulder, Emily and Erik Evenson; and brothers, Clayton and Wayne Evenson.
He was preceded in death by Arlene (Alne) Evenson, Eunice Evenson, and brother, Allan Evenson.
Eugene served in the Pacific Theater in WW2 with the Army Air Corps and was a 65 year veteran of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. He was an active member of the Society of Antique Modelers and spent many hours working on his model airplanes.
A celebration of life potluck will be held July 24
at 11 a.m. at Lake Goodwin Community Center in Stanwood and a private family service will be held at Tahoma National Military Cemetery in Kent.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to North County Volunteer FF Association 19727 Marine Dr. Stanwood, WA 98292 or the Society of Antique Modelers (SAM 8) 14719 32nd Dr SE Mill Creek, WA 98012.

Lee, Sue and family. The loss of a loved one is never easy (it sucks!) I trust you all have many fond memories that will last a lifetime. God Bless you all and know that your family is my family. I never got to know Eugene, but I thank him for sharing his family with mine. Greg Osborne
