Helen Jeanne Kruick 87, of Marysville, WA left her house Tuesday the 21st to go to her actual home in heaven. She was born in Bemidji, MN in 1934, moving to Washington at age 4.
She attended the old Getchell 2 room school house as a child until moving on to Marysville High where she met the love of her life John. John and Helen married at ages 21 and 16 and were together until his death in 2015. In her thirties she proudly learned to drive and obtained her GED and for the first time became a prolific reader developing a special love of poetry and Christian romances. She was a master homemaker with the nickname "Mrs. Clean".

An artist in all crafts, especially quilting. She created hundreds of beautiful gifts she loved giving to family and friends. She had a gift for maintaining lifelong friendships. She was magical at Christmas and birthdays conjuring wonderful surprises out of not much, making it herself or carefully saving for an entire year for that special item. She learned sign language to communicate with her son and encouraged, supported and advocated for him until the very end.
She leaves for now her children, Sheryl Melang, Brian Kruick and Donna Edwards, her grandchildren, Kilea Muduliar, Jason Edwards, Leanne Melang, Alexander Melang, Amy Edwards (who faithfully called her every day) and Amanda Melang.

She also leaves her late in life darlings, her 7 great-grandchildren and special beloved nieces and nephews. She also leaves her much loved brother and best friend from childhood,  Gerald Clapp.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Richard Kruick, her parents, Ralph and Gertrude Clapp and her sister, Ardith Quigley.

She will be laid to rest at the Marysville Cemetery, Wednesday, September 29th at 12:00 Noon with her family in attendance. A viewing will be held at Schaefer-Shipman funeral home in Marysville, Saturday the 25th from 1-5pm. A celebration of life will be held in the coming months.

To Helen's Kids, I am so sorry for the loss of your mom. Although I never met her, apparently she was my second cousin! From the Lydia/Selma Rappuhn side of the family. My heart goes out to you at this difficult time.
