Jack Faucett Obituary

Jack Faucett
1923-2008

Jack Faucett, an exceptional husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away January 5, 2008, two days after celebrating his 60th wedding anniversary. He passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. Jack was born February 8, 1923, along the Sauk River in Darrington, WA, where he spent most of his life.
Jack leaves behind his wife, Mary; his children, Jim (Diane) Faucett, Diane (Mark) Meece both, of Darrington, and Linda (Jim) Lindholm, of Olympia, WA; his grandchildren, Trina (Corey) Massingale, Brian (Tara) Lindholm, Lisa (Matt) Newell, Angie Meece, Trevor Faucett, Michelle Meece, (Jeremy Dennis) and Adam Faucett; and five great grandchildren, Emily and Brady Massingale, Addison and Kenna Newell, and Jaycob Dennis. He is also survived by his sister, Virginia Hollender, of Port Townsend, WA.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, James and Eloise Faucett; and four siblings, Geraldine Zerkle, Vera Dore, Frances Faucett, and James Lee Faucett.
Jack graduated high school in Port Townsend and ventured to Alaska to operate heavy machinery. Upon returning to Darrington, he married his sweetheart, Mary Skaglund in 1948. They settled in Darrington where Jack established his logging company. Later, his son Jim joined him in the logging business and they formed J & J Logging. They enjoyed many years of logging together before Jacks retirement. Jacks best years of logging were spent on Meadow Mt. near Darrington. He made many lifetime friends during his logging career and had many great stories to share with his family and friends.
His later years were spent supporting his grandchildren in whatever sport was in season. He could always be found cheering on the Darrington Loggers and took pride in being their #1 fan.
Jack will be remembered for his love of logging, his gentle spirit, and his devotion to his family.
A celebration of Jack's life will be held on January 11th, 2008 at the Darrington Community Center at 2:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to your favorite charity.

Mary, Jim, Linda, Diane and families, words cannot express the sorrow felt at your Dad's passing. His twinkling eyes and smile will always be remembered. When I moved back to Darrington he was one of the very first people I saw and was so pleased to see the twinkle and smile were still there. You all are in my thoughts at this difficult time.
