James Willie

James (Jim) Irving Willie, 88, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025. Born on September 21, 1937, in Everett, Washington, to Irving and Evelyn Willie. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife of 65 years, Sally (Landre) Willie; a proud and caring father to Jim (Wendy), Tim (Lisa), and Julie (Rod); and a cherished grandfather to Katherine (Ky) and Sam.

Everett was truly Jim's home in every sense. A graduate of Everett High School Class of 55, he built a long and dedicated career on the waterfront with the ILWU Local 32, serving many of those years as a longshoreman foreman. Jim was known for his strong work ethic-never shying away from long hours, extra shifts, or late nights if it meant providing for the family who meant everything to him.

During a motorcycle ride early in his life, Jim discovered the land that would become his family's forever home. There, he and Sally raised their children, creating a place filled with laughter, love, and memories. Later, they added a small house at Tulare Beach, where summers were spent together-sun-soaked, joyful, and surrounded by friends and family.

Jim had a gift for giving back. He coached Little League baseball and basketball, supported Everett High School athletics with unwavering enthusiasm, and could always be counted on to lend a hand at ICS fundraising events. A proud lifetime member of the Everett Elks Lodge, Jim enjoyed the simple pleasures, too-especially tending to his beloved blueberry and tomato plants.

Please join Jim's family and friends to honor and celebrate his life on January 10, 2026, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Everett Elks Lodge. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the ILWU Local 32 Scholarship Fund or the Everett Elks #479.

Jim's legacy lives on in the family he loved, the community he served, and the countless lives he touched with his kindness, loyalty, and quiet strength. He will be deeply missed.
