John Fox Obituary

John December 26, 1932 - Fox John Fox passed away peacefully April 17, 2025, at the age of 92. John was born in Lindale, Georgia, the middle son of Carl and Gertrude Fox. John graduated from McHenry High School at the age of sixteen, and with his father's permission joined the US Navy soon after his seventeenth birthday.
John was deployed to the South Pacific Island of Kwajalein in November 1952 and received a top-secret clearance. His squadron was selected to participate in the world's first thermonuclear test near the Marshall Islands. Eventually John was stationed at Whidbey Island Naval Air Station. He met his wife Margaret, "the love of his life", at the Seven Cedars Dance Hall. They were married in 1955. The couple settled near John's family in Rome, Georgia, where John attended school at Georgia Tech and where their two children were born.
The Fox family returned to the Northwest and settled in Marysville in 1966. John worked for Fluke Corporation for 26 years, starting as an electronics technician and retiring in 1992 as a Manufacturing Manager.
Margaret and John lived a very active retirement life, traveling and splitting their time between Oceanside, California and Mukilteo. John enjoyed golf and played many rounds with family and friends well into his late 70s. Following Margaret's death in 2010 John moved full time to Carlsbad, CA where he met his wife Maxine, and they enjoyed many years at the Carlsbad by the Sea retirement community. John returned to the Northwest in 2023 to be nearer to family after Maxine's passing in 2022.
John was a devoted family man, leaving his daughter Lorraine; son Ken (Kim); his four beloved grandchildren, Hannah (Isaiah), Tyler, Ryan (Danika), and Janelle (Jon), and four great-grandchildren. He is survived by his brother Gerald (Donna), and many extended family members.
John will be laid to rest at a private family service next to his wife Margaret at Marysville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be given to The American Heart Association, (AmericanHeart.org).

John (aka Silver Fox) was one the most Honest, friendliest, hard working people I had the honor of working with at Fluke. Always enjoyed golfing with John in the Fluke league and shared many stories. RIP John

I am so sorry for your loss. Every interaction I every had with John was great and a learning time. We both worked at John Fluke in the 70's - 90's. I met him when I installed his telephone at Fluke Park. We would run into each other in the halls and talk. RIP John.

Mr Fox and his wife Margaret were two of the dearest neighbors we have had in the Woodlands (Silver Lake). We missed them so when they moved to Mukilteo and missed seeing Margaret on her daily walks. Salt of the earth.
