John Stecher Obituary

Sept. 17, 1932 - Nov. 17, 2013 Jack was born in Everett and passed away peacefully in Snohomish, WA. He attended Perpetual Help School and graduated from Snohomish High School in 1952. Freeda Evans captured his heart in high school and they celebrated 60 years of marriage this past Valentine's Day. Jack worked for Simpson Lee Paper Co., the City of Everett, Cross Valley Water Assn and Hansen's Dairy Farm. In the 1970's he and Freeda owned and operated the Larimer Corner Store. After retirement Jack and Freeda traveled in their RV across the US and Alaska. No matter where they traveled, his heart was always in the Snohomish Valley. Jack was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Snohomish. He leaves behind his wife, Freeda; sons, Daniel (Bonnie) of Snohomish, John (Sherry) and Tim of Everett; daughter, Theresa (John) Lewis of Arlington; 14 grandchildren and spouses; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents, brothers and sisters. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2013, 1-5 p.m. at Warner's 9725 Lowell-Larimer Road Everett, WA 98208. The family would like to express a debt of gratitude to the staff of Merry Haven Care Center in Snohomish. Particularly LPN Jean for her care at this difficult time. Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to Merry Haven Care Center in Snohomish.

I will never forget the phone calls I use to get from "Santa". This will be a memory that I will forever cherish. I will miss Uncle Jack very much, but I take comfort in knowing that all his brothers & sisters are now together!
My prayers are with you Aunt Freeda & the whole family.

My condolences to Freeda and her family during this time. I first met Jack when I worked with Freeda at the 41st and Rucker Safeway in 1975 when I was 16 yrs. old. Jack was part of the Safeway family and attended all our Christmas Parties. It was good in later years to see Jack and Freeda attend the yearly Rucker Retirement gatherings and now at 55 yrs. old I can join the Club!! Jack was a very fun person!!

We will miss Uncle Jack. He was the last of his siblings to go. He always had a smile on his face whenever we went to visit. The valley got a bit quieter this past month without him.
Our Love and Prayers to Aunt Freeda and all of the family.
Love Chris and Terri Stecher
