Josephine Bolger Obituary
September 19, 2022 Joy passed away at home on Sept. 19, '22, surrounded by her family. Joy had battled Cancer since Christmas of 2000. Throughout those 22 years Joy showed her tremendous faith, tenacity, humor, spirit to live and love for family and friends. Joy was 69.
Joy was born in Bozeman, MT Sept. 4, '53, and moved to the Longview/Kelso area at an early age. She graduated with honors from Kelso High School ('71) then went on to WSU where she majored in Pre-Physical Therapy ('75) then earned her master's at Children's Hospital of LA, School of Physical Therapy ('77). After internship in Wenatchee, she worked at Harborview prior to moving to Everett in '79 and joining Channing Physical Therapy in the General Hospital assignment. Joy always had the dream of doing Home Health. Her career carried her to Visiting Nurse Service of the Northwest, Swedish Home Health and finally to Providence Home and Hospice. Joy retired in '13.
On Dec. 22, '79, Joy met Dennis and they were married Nov. 15, '80. They settled first in Marysville and in '83 built the family home in Mukilteo and had her son Dennis, Jr. Joy's greatest love was family, cooking, reading books, being and playing with her grandsons Liam and Cailan, caring for her dog Axel, and most recently "glamping" in their RV. Joy was always a person of strong faith. She read the bible daily & participated in American Cancer Society support groups as well as encouraging other cancer patients by phone & email.
Joy was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Beverly Muller. Joy leaves her husband Dennis of 42 years, her dog Axel, son Dennis, Jr., his wife Christina, Grandsons Liam & Cailan, son Jason Zelasko & his children Dario, Valeria, & Mariano. Sister Michele & husband Mike Sharp, brother Gregory (Greg) & his wife Jodi, brother Anthony (Tony) & his partner Bernardo, her stepmother Margorie (Muller) & her husband CJ Fredrickson, sister-in-law Kellie Peterson & husband Thor.
A memorial service is planned on Oct. 22, '22, at Edgewood Baptist Church at 3:30 pm. In lieu of flowers please contribute to Providence Home and Hospice of Snohomish County or American Cancer Society.

Very sorry about Joy. You haven't lost her, you know where she is, you know how to get there, and you know what to do. Psalm 116:15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. John 3:16, Romans 10:9-10 May our Lord give you a special peace during this difficult time.
