June Jefferies (Norton) Thacker

June Thacker, 91, of Everett, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2007.
She was born in Memphis, Missouri on June 2, 1915, to John and Ethel Jeffries. As a young girl, June moved with her parents and sister, Velva May, to Bend, OR. graduating from Bend High School in 1933. While living in Bend, she met and married Frederick Copple Norton.In 1941 the family moved to Magnolia, in Seattle, WA. June was a dedicated homemaker famous for her recipes and sewing. June began her career as a dental assistant for Dr. Robert Ingman in Magnolia. June married Dr. Edgar Thacker and moved to Everett, WA. Together, June and Ed enjoyed traveling, taking many trips to Maui during the summers with June's sister Velva and her husband Mush Torson, as well as traveling throughout Europe. June mourned the loss of her husband, Dr. Thacker in 1999.
Surviving are her sons, John Norton and wife, Rosemary, of Oregon; Peter Norton and fiancé Gwen Adams, of New York; and four grandchildren, Jessica Norton, Carly Norton, Diana Norton and Michael Norton; nephews, Bob Torson and his wife, Kathy, of LaConner, WA., Tom Torson and Martha of Scottsdale, AZ; and step-children, Chuck Thacker; Eddie Thacker and his wife Soon; and Linda Waston and her husband Steve; along with nine grandchildren.
A graveside memorial will be held at 11:00 am, Sunday, April 29, 2007, at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park, 1615 SE Everett Mall Way, Everett WA. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Easter Seals.
