Katherine "Nana" Zehrung

Katherine "Nana", age 94, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2009 surrounded by family. Katherine was born October 6, 1914 in Blockton, Alabama. The daughter of a farmer/miner, Katherine was raised in Orient, Illinois.
In 1943 she met her husband, Floyd Daniels Zehrung and was married on June 23, 1944 in Myrtle Creek, Oregon. Together they lived their lives in Alderwood Manor, Washington, where they raised two sons, Clarence Frank (Darcy) Zehrung. of Mountlake Terrace, WA and David Floyd (Cathy) of Silverton, Oregon.
The joy of her life was children and she was blessed with 12 grandchildren, Rhonda, Jill, Greg, Steve, Kurt, Amy, Stephani, Kirk, Connor, Shane, Kitrina and Danielle; and nine great grandchildren, Shane, Christina, Amelia, Richard, Samantha, Kristen, Justin, Heather and Keena; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition, Katherine was "Nana" to many more, as she was a beloved "baby sitter" to so many through the years.
Katherine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Floyd; and parents, Frank Lulek and Catherine (Wirtitsch) Lulek.
A memorial service will be held at 1:15 p.m., on Sunday, May 24, 2009, at Bethesda Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Bethesda Lutheran Church General Ministry Fund.

I am so sorry to hear of Nana's passing...She was a huge part of my life as I stayed with her and the family more then i did with my own. I loved doing her Exercises with her EARLY in the morning when my mom dropped me off and watching her soaps and she made the best egg salad samiches ever....She was the most wonderful woman i have ever known....I will miss her....Much Love

Lance, Darcy and the family,

I am so sorry to hear of Nana's passing...I'll always remember her as this feisty little woman who lovingly took care of my kids and so many others. She was a very special woman and I'm sure you all miss her very much.
