Laura Pratt Obituary
Binghamton: Laura P. Pratt, 44, loving wife and devoted mother, passed away on Friday, September 5, 2014, after a battle with cancer. She graduated from Binghamton High School in 1987 and attended Shenandoah Conservatory and the University of Rochester. Laura was a talented cellist and was a member of the Binghamton Community Orchestra. Laura worked at Boscov's department store for several years and greatly enjoyed the company of her coworkers. She also volunteered time helping others through her work with patient advocacy at the Greater Binghamton Health Center.
She was predeceased by her parents, Ellen (Belcher) Petrisko and Richard N. Petrisko. She is survived by her husband of 11 years, LeBon Pratt, and her beloved daughter, Brianna, the joy of her life. She is also survived by her sibings, Monica Petrisko, New York, NY, Debbie and Scott Sussman, Highland Park, NJ, and Richard Petrisko, Milwaukee, WI, and nephew, Matthew Sussman. She leaves behind aunt and uncle, Margaret and James Bunnell, Johnson City, and cousins, Cynthia, Theresa, Tom and Michelle.
The family would like to thank Laura and Lee's numerous caring friends who helped them with encouragement, rides, meals, child care, smiles, and in countless other ways. Laura loved her friends as if they were family. She valued the support she received from them and was very happy to be a supportive friend in turn, despite her own personal challenges.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12:00 p.m. Thursday, September 11, 2014, at Saint Thomas Aquinas Church, 1 Aquinas St., Binghamton, by the Reverend Monsignor John Putano. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will follow services in Calvary Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Laura may be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, www.nami.org. To forward condolences, please visit www.demunnfh.com. When I heard, the emotions I had for my friend burst out of me. You will be so missed by all who's heart's and lives you touched Laura.I'm glad I met you. I'm glad your not suffering anymore, and I'm so sorry you (all) have to suffer.
From the minute we talked at work I knew you were special. Brianna and Lee you are both in my heart and prayers. Brianna your mom always praised you, always talking about you. You made your mom so proud everyday. Mommy is always gonna be with you everyday. You may not know it but she will never leave your side. I loved Laura as much as everyone that came in contact with her. I'm gonna come say my goodbyes to my friend tomorrow... RIP Laura :'-(

My heart is broken with this news today. The last time I saw her she was at work and we were talking about get results. I had no idea!
Lee, I am so sorry for the loss of your friend, your partner, your bride.
Brianna, there is nothing I can say to ease the pain in your heart and your soul over losing your mom. She loved you beyond words, beyond measure.. And always, always tried to do the best she could and give you everything.
I know we have lost touch over the past couple of years since we moved but I want to let you know that your mom made an impression on me! I respected her and I will miss her truely. I am sending lots of hugs and prayers to you in this difficult time. Please call if you need us. 744-7191.
