Laurence W. Romo
1939 - 2021

Laurence W. Romo entered this world at 1029 Wetmore Ave. in Everett, WA on 5/28/1939 @ 8:18 PM joining his parents, Harry & Ruth (Danner) Romo and brothers H. Duane & Ronald.

He attended Garfield, Whittier & Washington Grade schools, North Junior High & was a graduate of EHS, Class of 1957.

July 12, 1958 he married his North Junior High sweetheart, Charlotte (Higgins) and July 12, 2021 celebrated 63 years of marriage. Laurence & Charlotte were in the same kindergarten class (Miss Crook) at Garfield. We were in the same class in the 7th, 8th and 9th grade at North Junior. Members of the band, Section 9.

Laurence worked for Boeing at the Renton plant from 1958-1959, carpooling from Pinehurst to Renton daily. Boeing had a major slowdown and he was given the option to take a pay cut or resign. He opted to resign and he joined his father who was working in construction in the 5 Corners area of Edmonds and fell in love with construction. In 1960 he started his own construction business, Romo Built Homes, which later became Romo Construction LLC. He was fortunate to work with his father and son for many years. Our son, Greg has continued with his own construction company. Laurence's career developed into 50 years of home building in the south Everett area. Pinehurst, Eastmont, Fir Grove, Hilton Lake, 35th Ave, CedarHeights, Silverlake Terrace, Heatherwood, Beckonwood, Pioneer Trails, Gold Creek, Marysville and Arlington. Some are forgotten. His homes were quality as he was.

In 1960 he became a father and he loved kids, not only his, but all kids. He was a wonderful father to Greg, Daryl, Jim and Cheryl and a great role model. With 4 active kids in a variety of sports he was kept busy and took the time to be there for them. He was even talked into being a Little League Coach of the Senators.

Laurence leaves behind a wonderful legacy: Love of God, Family and Friends.

Laurence is survived by his wife, Charlotte of Camano Island, sons, Greg (MaryAnn) of Marysville, Daryl (Julie) of Anchorage, AK, Jim (Colleen) of Camano Island and daughter Cheryl (Marty) Martinis of Marysville. Sister-in-law, Cookie (Bill) Pope of Marysville and Darlene Romo of Mukilteo. Nieces, nephews and cousins.

9 Grandchildren; Nicholas (Dani) Romo, Brett Romo, Conner (Karissa) Martinis, Trevor Romo, Carly (Quinn) Anderson, Katie (Zack) Docekal, Morgan (Jamieson) McDaniels, Megan (Tyler) Thompson, Halie (Cody) Dockendorf.

7 Great Grandchildren; Cooper, Blakely, Brinlie, Lane, Colter, Carter, and Rigsley, with 3 on the way.

Pre-deceasing Laurence were his parents Harry & Ruth Romo, brothers Duane & Ron, in-laws Charley & Marie Higgins, sister-in-law Judy Romo. Grandson, Riley Martinis.

We will miss this Honest, Gentle, Humble, Giving & Kind Husband, Gather, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and Friend. Laurence's true successes were not his money in the bank or his possessions, but it was his work/family balance. Family was always first.

Please join the family as we Celebrate his life on September 18, 2021 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 215 Mukilteo Blvd, Everett, WA at 11:00 AM. Lunch will follow in the Commons.

My Dad was such a great role model for how life should be lived. Fun, Disciplined, Honest and most of all kind. He did so much for so many, especially us, his family. Thank you for everything Dad! I hope and pray that Grandma Ruth was waiting for you with open arms when you arrived in heaven. I love you and am so going to miss you.

My Thoughts are with the Romo Family. Larry was a Good Man who did not know a Stranger. Besides his Carpentry skills, Larry was a perfectionist. He instilled this trait into his Children who Larry was so proud of...Really gonna miss Larry.

Laurence was not only a wonderful man, so kind with such an engaging personality, he was also a premier builder of homes in Snohomish County. We've lived in a Romo home for over 17 years - Laurence and Greg, constructed our beautiful home in the Plat of Aspen, a home we plan to live in for the remainder of our lives. To Charlotte and the entire Romo family, our sincerest condolences during this most difficult time. Lyn and Bud Wessman

Success in life is not measured by the wealth and belongings you have accumulated. My father was the most successful person I have ever known! He always put FAMILY first! Always home for dinner around the kitchen table, never missing any of our games, family vacations, weekends together! He mastered life/work balance, and passed the importance of FAMILY to all of his children, grandchildren , and great grandchildren! His legacy will always be FAMILY!! So BLESSED to have had him as my father! Love and gonna miss you pops!
