Lloyd Milligan Obituary

Lloyd Ernest Milligan

Lloyd Ernest Milligan "Ernie" passed away peacefully September 15, 2011 at age 80 with his family at his side.
Ernie was born to Walter and Vara Milligan February 3, 1931 in San Bernadino Valley, CA. Dad was a colorful person, having grown up in the Venice/Santa Monica, California area where he met and married the love of his life, Charlene, on October 29, 1950.
He loved to share his childhood escapades with all his family and they were as clear in his mind as if it were yesterday. Dad held many jobs in his life but was known by most for being an excellent framer. His search for work brought him and his family to Washington State in the late 1960's. Dad had never met a stranger; his kindness and generosity often led to opening his home to anyone in need.
Ernie is now reunited with Charlene, his beloved wife of 52 years; grandchildren, Colton and Conley; parents, Walter and Vara; brothers, Bill and Buddy; and sister, Jymmie Girl.
He is survived by his brother, Donny of Indiana; children, Laura (Chuck) Ames, Karla (Carl) Hoglund, Shawn (Johnny) Fox, Linda (Kenny) Friddle and Jack (Kaylyn) Milligan; grandchildren, Charlie (Holly) Ames, Kimberly (Chad) Cabe, Karlyn Ames (Eli), Jennifer Fox, Bryan (Kelli) Milligan, Shannon (Rick) Yargus, Jodi (Josh) Minnick, Ray Ankrum (Traci), Kegan Friddle and Kodie Friddle (Bobby); step-grandchildren, Scott (Traci) Hoglund and Sean Hoglund (Cecillia); great-grandchildren, Indigo Cabe, Jaydee Yargus, Kallie Yargus, Taurin Orsborn, Zayden Orsborn, Lucas Ankrum and Brooke Yargus; step-great-grandchildren, Dylan Ronnell and Kenadie Hoglund. He also leaves behind extended family and friends; and his beloved dog, Sugar.
Dad, you truly are one of a kind. You will be missed by many! We love you! Until we meet again...Hugs.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude for the kindness and support they have received.

Uncle Ernie you will be missed. Although not by blood, you were an amazing person in our lives. I still remember riding in the back of your truck as a kid and feeding the chickens. You will be missed.

Shawn, Karla, Linda, I never met your Dad but heard many good things about him from my Dad. He must have been a mighty fine person for Dad to speak so highly of him. I am so sorry for your loss, it is never easy to lose a parent and when they are going to join the other parent it is sometimes bittersweet. You are all in my thoughts. He like Daddy, is back with the love of his life, and is happy to have gone on the journey. May your memories of happier times heal the sadness in your hearts.
