Lora Carpenter Obituary

Lora Carpenter of Marysville, Washington was born on September 12, 1936 and passed away March 2, 2015. She loved her freedom, nearly as much as she loved her family and friends. When she would drop in to say hi or bring a home baked goodie it was almost a hi and a bye in the same breath. She was such a beautiful Rambling Rose weaving through our lives. Free and boundless, she can now ramble with the angels who we know are so delighted to welcome her back into their ranks. We loved you Mom and are ever grateful for the time and love you gave us. Tony says: She never gave up on life, when it was hard, she said, "Things don't always work out for the best, but they'll always work out." "In particular about any hard task or a doctor's appointment, she loved to say: "Check your dignity at the door and get it done!" She was an amazing cook, she loved to cook for family and friends. It made her happy! Barb says: Well, what comes to mind first off is that she always questioned me about wearing lipstick. She'd say: "Barb, you're not wearing lipstick." And, that she was such a pure and honest person, never would intentionally hurt anyone. Never in a bad mood and never complained about anything. Totally good person, and that I couldn't ask for a better Mom…I miss her. Gail said: When she could, she would always help me money-wise. (She always had good credit & "rat- hole" money, lol). And I called her MANY times to ask how to cook something. I really liked how she loved animals. We always had dogs and cats and kittens while growing up, and she always paid lots of attention to my own animals when she was at my house. Lane: What can we say about Lane's ever present willingness to be there for his Mom? For all the times he came in from Timbuktu and beyond to care for her…we don't have enough words or perhaps the right words to express how much that meant to Mom and to us. Your caring and consistently "showing up" is amazing. It allowed Mom to stay at home and be surrounded by family when she passed. Thank you Lane. Chuck: We also know and want to thank Chuck for helping many times with moving Mom and helping with the kinds of day to day errands and tasks that became impossible for Mom to do any longer. As to me: She "told it like it was". A very admirable and refreshing trait, in my book. She could be depended on to tell you the truth…I loved her unfettered wit. She said what she thought and if deserving apology-that came with a shrug and a hoarse throaty laugh. I loved her from the get go. She was a rare soul. Truly beautiful. We want to thank the staff at Providence Hospital and Providence Hospice for their tender and intelligent care of our Mom. In particular, we are especially thankful to Mom's caregiver, Vonny, with Catholic Community Services.

I have fond memories of pretty Lora when we worked at
Buse Timber in Marysville, Laura would bring plates of
homemade candies during Christmas season. Oh such a
treat.

She was a very lovely gal, we all enjoyed her cheerful smiles.

Her family was blessed, wonderful, very giving woman.
brought happiness and smiles to all.

Her family was blessed to have her in their lives.

Love to her family!
