Marilyn Kay McEvers Obituary

Marilyn Kay (Miller) McEvers, 72, of Copperas Cove, Texas passed away on October 23 following a year-long battle with lung cancer. Marilyn was born in Everett, Washington to Robert and Rosie Miller. She grew up In Everett where she was a 1971 graduate of Cascade High School. Marilyn proudly served in the Washington Air National Guard for several years before marrying Jim McEvers an Army Physicians Assistant. They raised 3 boys while the family lived in Germany. On returning to the US, Marilyn began a long and dedicated career with Walmart, where she worked from the 1990s until 2023. Over the years, she held many positions and was known for her strong work ethic and caring spirit toward coworkers and customers alike.

Marilyn was a compassionate yet no-nonsense woman, known for her strength, wit, and unwavering love for those she held dear. She had a deep affection for animals and often advocated for their care and protection. She found joy in sightseeing and treasured every moment spent with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Jim; her sons, Matthew (Wendy) McEvers, Michael (Ashley) McEvers, and Donald McEvers; her mother, Rosie; sister Elaine, brother Tom, six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Marilyn's legacy of love, resilience, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. A service in Texas is being planned . In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Asher House www.theasherhouse.com.
