Mark Hunter Obituary

At the age of 55 Mark passed away under his terms after a short bout of pancreatic cancer, encircled by his children, Alaina, Trevor and faithful companion Orion. Mark, aka Coach had a passion for the martial arts from an early age, he was self-taught but thirsted to study and learn from those teachers he admired and respected. Taky Kimura, one of Bruce Lee's top students and closest friends said to Mark, "you are the fastest big man I have ever met." The Center for Creative Martial Arts (CCMA) was opened where everyone was accepted and treated with respect. He taught boxing and kickboxing instilling his passion and knowledge in an open and safe place. Forever remembering those he trained, not as students but a part of his forever family. Mark will be missed by countless people whose lives have been forever changed. He will be remember as a mentor, gentle teddy bear and friend. Mark supported the American Cancer Society so if you choose, please consider contributing to the ACS or your favorite charity in Marks memory.

"It's like a finger pointing away to the moon. Don't concentrate on the finger or you will miss all that heavenly glory", "If you love life, do not waste time, for time is what life is made up of" - Bruce Lee February 1, 1965 - June 12, 2020

Mark taught me everything about being a fighter. He taught me how to earn my spot at the table by sparring the best. Teaching me to always be the best me I could, not only boxing but in life. He showed me what it meant to be a man not just a man but a good and kind hearted one. This man was more than a coach he was a friend and even more he was like a dad to me. we shared wins and losses good and bad days but I'll always remember his patience his smile and the way he cared for others. This was a once in a lifetime friendship for me you will be dearly missed my friend.

Mark was my very first coach but more like a father to me. He showed me my strength I cared inside that I didnt even know existed and guided me down a journey that would forever change me life. I was so heart broken when I found out he had cancer. I was blessed to be able to see him one more time. I had so much I wanted to say to him and when I saw him all I could do is say I love you ! It was so important for me to know that he knew! I will remember our last small conversation forever! He takes a piece of me. Love you Mark

I trained with Mark since the 90s having my own school we shared insight about practical training. Our bond became much closer as we got to know each other more. His life was his children he got the biggest smile telling storys about them. Also being a father my biggest joy in life my children I felt a connection. He was all about helping people become a better them building their confidence. I have to agree with Taky Makes hard are fast not just for a big guy he was scary fast And very humble. Im going to miss my good friend I was blessed to have known you my friend God Bless Coach.

I met Coach Mark through CCMA , from day one he was a super nice guy and and very welcoming . He loved to share his knowledge and his friendship. We always stayed in touch and sent humorous jokes back and forth . I was very sad when he told me he had cancer , he was getting one of my Lab puppys and was sooo excited about it , when the puppys were ready to go to their new homes, I called him to tell him it was time , and he sadly told me the news and had to pass on getting the pup We shared the same love for dogs , I will definitely miss his Friendship .

His sexy voice is the first thing I knew about him. Just talking on the phone when he answered. Then I met him in person and he was more than a voice! I was shocked and saddened to hear of his passing and I will miss him in this world. May the memories you carry be a salve to your souls.
