Olav Pedersen
He leaves behind his wife, Gerd Pedersen, of Everett; a daughter, Mary Ann Sullivan (Tim), of Minneapolis, MN; a daughter, Eileen Bartel (Pete), of Ridgefield; a son, David Pedersen (Candice), of Camano Island, WA; five grandchildren: Michael (Annelies), Bonni, Malena (Usman), Kirsten (Jesse), and Elise; two great-grandchildren, Bjorn and Willem; and numerous nieces and nephews, both in the United States and in Norway.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 28 years, Helen Jane Pedersen.
Olav immigrated to the U.S. in 1947 and settled in Minneapolis, where he met Helen Jane. They moved to Everett in 1965, where a brother lived. Olav was a hard-working, patriotic, generous and empathetic family man, who enjoyed his music and reading, always believed in doing the right thing, loved to drive, and who had a great sense of humor.
In lieu of flowers it was his desire for donations to be made in his name to the American Cancer Society, in honor of Helen Jane. His memory will live on in the hearts of family he left behind, whom he loved dearly.

I will always cherish the many many many memories I have with "grandpa Olav." He was a special person to me and spent a lot of time with me playing, drawing, taking road-trips, listening to music, playing cards and reading books. I used to love to sneak up behind him and poke him in the sides, he was very ticklish, just like me! I loved to spend time at grandma and grandpa's house!! In 2003, I was lucky enough to go to Norway with my grandpa. He showed me where he grew up (the country house, and the house in town), where he worked, and introduced me to all my relatives in Norway. I'm glad my grandpa introduced me and taught me about my heritage, it is something I will always treasure. I will love and miss him forever. LOVE YOU GRANDPA OLAV!

What a lovely tribute to Olav--he was such a sweet and thoughtful person. I remember him updating me on your life in Vancouver, Eileen. Sending love to all of Olav's family.
