Phyllis Henshaw Obituary

Phyllis Ann Henshaw (née Cye), born July 26, 1930, in Cleveland, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2025, in Everett, Washington, at the age of 95.

Phyllis led a vibrant life dedicated to family, friends, and community service. She began her entrepreneurial journey with a cookie baking business and later co-owned NW Chuckwagon BBQ restaurants with her first husband, Stanley Habowski. She served nearly two decades as an evidence officer for the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office.

Phyllis was an accomplished cook and baker, a certified Master Gardener, and an avid volunteer at the Future of Flight Aviation Center and the Snohomish County Visitors Center. She celebrated each birthday with a skydive and traveled extensively, including motorcycle trips with her second husband, Dick Henshaw.

She is survived by her son Dean Habowski (Carol), daughter Susie Martin; grandchildren Danielle Thomas and Derek Habowski (Jessica); several stepchildren including Elisa Andring (Roger) and Rick Henshaw; as well as numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Helen and Walter Cye; first husband Stanley Habowski; second husband Richard "Dick" Henshaw; son Bob Habowski; and brother Norman Cye.

A celebration of Phyllis's life will be held this fall with details forthcoming. May her memory bring comfort and serve as an enduring inspiration.

As a fellow SCSO employee (I was first in the Records dept & eventually in the Major Crimes dept). After we both retired we met with mutual friends for lunches. She was a joy to know & will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

The neighborhood has not been the same since Dick died and Phyllis moved. They are missed immensely and thought of often as I walk past their house. Much love to the family.

I had the privilege of meeting you a couple times when I was with your granddaughter Danielle, one of my closest friends. You were warm, kind and through the stories I heard from Danielle- I knew you to be an AMAZING woman. You are truly an inspiration and will be missed.
