Richard Simonson Obituary

Richard Simonson 79 of Snohomish, WA, died peacefully at home on Saturday May 20, 2017, after a long battle with cancer. He was born May 26, 1937, in Stanwood, WA, and was a long time resident of Snohomish. Richard worked at Acrowood Corporation as a design draftsman; and signed his drawings with his initials, thus creating his nickname RAS. He will be reunited with his mother, Alice. He leaves behind his loving companion and dearest friend, Julie Oksness. He was blessed with many friends and family members who enjoyed his caring ways. At his request no services will be held. Special thanks to Hospice staff and to Snohomish 911 responders. Memorials are suggested to Providence Hospice Foundation or American Cancer Society.

I worked with Dick at Black Clawson/Acrowood for many years and remember him often in the print room keeping the print machine running. After retirement on occasion we would often sample the offerings at the local pub while the women were shopping. Good times.

I enjoyed all our special trips with Julie and RAS. He was a very quiet, funny and kind person to be around. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He was a very creative person..he enjoyed stamp posting and collecting of his own special books. He enjoyed spending time with his special companion and best friend, Julie. They enjoyed many special vacations and had fun finding memorable treasures. He will be missed by everyone.
Rest in peace dear friend.
Love, Diane

What a shock! He was my favorite cousin! We spent many great times together back in the late 50s He and his friends made my Nurses training day much easier! I hate we drifted apart.
