Ross Lingenfelter Obituary

Ross David Lingenfelter, 53, passed away from natural causes on March 30, 2024. Ross was born on July 2, 1970 to Gary and Peggy Lingenfelter. He grew up in Everett and graduated from Everett High School in 1988, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Oregon State University in 2014. Ross lived in both Washington and Oregon at different times, spending several years at the Christian Conference Center in Cannon Beach, college years in Corvallis, and eventually moved back to Washington where he most recently enjoyed his life and work as a chef.

Ross had a variety of passions and interests that led to many adventures in his life. He was a musician, an avid reader, loved cooking, and was a super-fan of the Seahawks and Mariners (spring training with his lifelong friend, Brian Durr, was a highlight of this last year!). He was a collector of Funko Pops, a master player of League of Legends, a diehard Batman fan, a poker player with no tells, and an intellectual with a wry and sparkling wit that showcased an unparalleled sense of humor. Most of all, Ross was a son, brother, uncle, and dear friend who was happiest sharing his time and laughter with the people he held close. His favorite place in the world was his family's beach house where he spent many summers of his youth, swimming in the salt water and building rafts and forts with his siblings and beach friends. In his adulthood, returning to the beach was something he cherished; childhood memories of the sand between his toes, alongside new experiences of time spent with loved ones. Ross was a believer in human connections, so no matter how much time passed between communication with a friend or family member, a simple spark of a new hello was enough to rekindle the joy in a relationship that had always existed. He will be remembered for his courageous journey through the peaks and valleys of life, for his smile that was sometimes mischievous but always genuine, and for his unique perspective on life that was a gift to us all.

Ross was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy Lingenfelter. Ross is survived by his father, Gary (Christine) Lingenfelter, sister Becky (Bill) Bacon of Marysville, WA, brother Mark (Kathy) Lingenfelter of California, sister Mary (Jeff Piacitelli) Lingenfelter of New Mexico, nieces and nephews Emily Bacon, Matthew Bacon, Michael (Kaley) Bacon, Will Bacon, Mark Bacon, Drew Lingenfelter, and Charlotte Lingenfelter, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In remembrance of Ross, his family wishes to extend an invitation to his friends and loved ones for a Celebration of Life on May 4, 2024, 3pm at the Hotel Indigo, located at 1028 13th St., Everett, WA.

Gary, Becky and family, I have just heard of Ross´s passing. I am so sorry to hear of the loss of such a great guy. As his former 5th grade teacher at Whittier Elementary I have many happy memories. I especially enjoyed his wry sense of humor and I appreciated the fact that he got my jokes (many of which seemed to fly over the heads of the other students). His kindness to others and the positive impact he made in the classroom truly made teaching fun for me.

Gary & Chris - It is with overwhelming sadness we reach out to you. Ross was one of our boys at the beach. So many summer hours were spent together enjoying life here on the water. Ross's life on earth ended way to soon! Praying our heavenly Father will bring you comfort & peace.

Losing a friend like you Ross is like losing something that is irreplaceable. You always knew how to bring a smile to others whenever you showed up. Your genuine kindness grew on us all. The type of guy who you could stay up with all night just talking about different things. The comfort of having a friend like you has been taken away but not that of having had a friend like you. You are and will be missed dearly and save a seat for me at the Quiplash table my friend. Until we meet again Ross thank you for being the wonderful man you were to many.

Although I never met Ross in person he was a cherished friend. We became close thru our love of Funko pops & doing our you tube show every Sunday during the pandemic. He was an amazing human being and he will be greatly missed. Will his memorial be live streamed? Ross had so many friends from all over the world in the Funko community. It would be an honor I am sure to be there. My deepest condolences to his family. RIP buddy see you on the other side.....
