Steve Rainwater Obituary

Steve Marvin Rainwater, 65, of Bellingham, Washington passed away on Friday, October 14, 2016, surrounded by his family. Steve was born in Everett, Washington on February 21, 1951, and graduated from Cascade High School in 1969. Steve loved his family and friends. He spent many hours in his free time visiting people residing at the Nursing Home(s) where his wife worked. He was always one to rely on if your car broke down. With duct tape and bailing wire he could fix almost anything. Steve had many hobbies over the years from water and snow skiing to flying radio controlled aircraft with his family. He loved to play games and he loved to cook. He most recently was employed by Ludtke Trucking of Bellingham as a long haul driver. Trucking took Steve to all 48 continental states and many parts of Canada. Driving for Ludtke was his most personally rewarding career. Steve met his wife, Karen when he was 17 while participating in the Olivia Park Methodist Youth Group. They were married on July 23, 1971, and have been together ever since. Steve is survived by his wife, Karen (Salyer), son, Bill Rainwater and wife, Shyla, daughter, Tina Rainwater, son, Rob Rainwater and wife, Carolyn; two grandchildren, Tristan and Mabel; mother, Alice (Rainwater) Fike, brothers, Greg Rainwater and wife, Debbie, Scott Rainwater and wife, Janet; sister, Wendy Ness, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Steve was preceded in death by his father, Harold in 1981 and his older brother, Billy in 1959. Steve was known for his saying 'Little Rainwater never hurt anybody' and although he is in a better place spreading his word he will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. There will be a Celebration of Steve's life on November 5, 2016, at the Everett Eagles located at 1216 Broadway in Everett, WA. from 1-3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in his name to the American Cancer Association, PO Box 7262, Hillsborough, NJ 08844-7262.

My sincere sympathies to
Karen, Tina, Robbie & Billy and the rest of the family! Steve was one of a kind who loved mashed potatoes and chicken gizzards or livers! I can't remember which at the moment. Needless to say I couldn't eat a chicken liver or gizzards. That was what he wanted for his birthday at Alice & Harold's many years ago!
