Steven Whitt Obituary

Steve was born in Moline, Illinois, the son of Marion and Gloria Whitt. He spent his early years in Shale City, IL. His family moved to WA in the early 1950's. Steve attended schools all over the Everett area and sometimes in Twisp WA. At the age of 17 he enlisted in the Navy and served in Viet Nam and the Philippines. After being Honorably Discharged in 1967, he eventually settled in Twisp, WA. He worked in the service industry for many years. Eventually Steve returned to the Everett/Marysville area where he passed away.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Gloria Whitt, his sister Peggy and nephew Jerry, sister Judy and niece Michelle, sisters Ruth and Donna. His son Rod passed away this past May.

He is survived by his sister, Terry and brother-in-law, Gail Johnson of Oak Harbor, WA., nephew Gail Johnson Jr (Val), niece Nicole Johnson (Joel), nephew Eric and many other nieces and nephews.

In his later years he enjoyed the company of his nephews, Eric Johnson and Gail Johnson Jr. In his time of need they were there to give Steve a proper haircut and also rescue his little dog Ariel. He always enjoyed the company of his grand-niece Jaime Linn. On Steve's 62nd birthday 5 year old Jaime lost control of his BD cake and tipped it on to his lap. Steve had a great laugh!

We would like to thank Julie Taylor, Steve's social worker, Wogayehu and Desta Mengesha and their staff at 1st Choice Senior Care Adult Family Home, in Marysville for their 7 years of wonderful care. We believe them to be the best, healthiest years of Steve's life. Also a special thank you to Evergreen Hospice for their care of Steve in his final days. Finally thank you Funeral Alternatives in Marysville. They were and have been in the past so very supportive of our family with the life/death transition.

As per a conversation between Steve and Eric Johnson his remains will be scattered at some of his favorite fish "poaching" holes on the Methow River! No services are planned. Steve had a great smile.
