Wanda Soderberg

Sept. 28, 1935-Sept. 26, 2015 Wanda Soderberg of Marysville, Wash. died September 26 2015. Wanda was born in the Westport, Wash area. Her parents, Paul and Viola Bass moved to Woodinville Wash. in the 1940's. She attended Woodinville Grade School and Bothell High School. One of her many job's as a teenager included being a carhop at the Victory Drive Inn in Kenmore, Wash. She married Donald Soderberg "Ole" in 1953. They had three sons, Richard, Larry, and Donald "Pete". They divorced in 1962 and remarried in 1974. Wanda worked as a grocery checker, meat rapper, cook, waitress, and bartender. These job's prepared her for what she would be best remembered for: the owner, manager, cook, "ext" at Wanda's Club 4 in Lynnwood, Wash. from 1984 to 1990 and again from 1992 to 1994. Wanda's Club 4 provided a unique opportunity for people in recovery to enjoy an exceptional social experience. A Restaurant where there were always other people in recovery to hang out with, to dance, have meetings and discover that staying sober could be fun. Her beauty and charm could only be surpassed by her ability as a personal confidant for so many in her family and them in recovery. The total impact of Wanda's Club 4 and Wanda herself to so many directly and indirectly is beyond calculation. She is survived by her husband, Donald "0le"; sons, Richard, Larry and Donald "Pete"; their wives, "Sunny", Jenney and Kathy; sisters, Colleen, Paula, Gwen and Patty; nine grand children and eight great grandchildren; many nieces nephews; plus all that considered her their Mom, Big Sister, Mentor and Friend. The loss of her physical passing is far surpassed by the privilege of knowing this exceptional Woman. After a private family celebration of life for her many, many, many friends in recovery there will be another celebration of life announced at a later date.
