Ella M. Crane

Ella M. (Buckley) Crane, 89, of Dartmouth formerly of Somerset for over fifty years, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2015 at the Somerset Ridge Center. She was the wife of the late Frederick Fred Crane. Ella was born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Frederick H. and Anna (Brown) Buckley. She was a graduate Somerset High School class of 1944. Mrs Crane worked as a secretary in the payroll department at Firestone Tire & Rubber. Ella then devoted her life to raising her family. She was an active member for many years at the Congregational Christian Church in Somerset. She served the church as a deacon and greeter. Mrs. Crane was also involved with the Womens league. Ella cherished her family and was an avid bowler, knitting and sewing. Survivors are four daughters: Nancy T. Crane and her Partner Kae Schell of Charlotteville, NY; Beverly A. Mello and her husband Brian of Swansea, MA; Sandra M. Ryer and her husband Michael of Marion, MA; Anna S. Lopez of Fall River, MA; seven grandchildren: Lindsey, Melissa, Danielle, Zachary, Christopher, Jamison and Catharine; a brother: Frederick H. Buckley Jr. of Florida; along with several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Marion Orrell. Calling Hours for Ella will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2015 from 4-7pm in the Hathaway Community Home for Funerals, 900 Buffinton Street, Somerset, followed by a Memorial Service on Friday, November 6, 2015 at 10am in the Congregational Christian Church, 1411 County Street, Somerset.
