Clover, South Carolina - Mrs. Barbara McSwain Clinton, age 84, of Clover, SC, passed away at Caromont Regional Hospital in Gastonia, NC, on Thursday, May 23, 2024.

The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Monday, May 27, 2024, at Bratton Funeral Home, 1455 Filbert Hwy York, SC, and other times at the home of Danny Clinton, 2169 Meadow Road, Clover, SC. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at 2pm at Kings Mountain Chapel Methodist Church, 1130 Philbeck Road, York, SC, with the Rev. Dan Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens of York.

Barbara was born on December 4, 1939, in Blacksburg, SC. She was the daughter of the late Paul Moore McSwain and Lenora Shillinglaw McSwain. She was a member of Kings Mountain Chapel Methodist Church. She graduated from Winthrop College with a Master's Degree in school counseling. She retired as a 6th grade teacher and school counselor from York School District #1.

Barbara is survived by her children: Tamera Clinton Randolph (John), Joey Dean Clinton (Shannon), Danny Mack Clinton (Tracie), and Kristin Clinton Dixon (Neil); her grandchildren: Sarah Margaret Randolph, Hunter Wilson Randolph, Hayden Dean Randolph, William Carson Clinton, Noah Neil Dixon, Mack Henry Dixon, and Samuel Paul Clinton; her sister, Christine McSwain Stephenson (Brice), her brother Billy Paul McSwain (Susie), her sister-in-law Darlene Elliott and numerous nephews and nieces.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Earl Dean Clinton and her brother Eric Elliott.
